Ludenso is building an augmented reality authoring tool for textbook publishers. The ability for a student to experience a seamless digital experience (in 3D) on top of the traditional textbook can be transformative to their learning. Until Ludenso, a solution hasn’t existed to make this affordable, quick and technically easy to implement for publishers looking to boost student outcomes and increase their sales. Ludenso has now signed up some of the world’s most renowned publishers, including Cambridge University Press, Aschehoug and SAGE. We recently raised a $1M seed round in late 2022 from world class investors (including Kahoot! founders, FERD, Atomico Angel Fund), and we’re now building towards a significant Series A. We have ambitions to become the leading AR platform in education and we’re looking for the best possible team members to help us achieve this.
What we’re looking for
A remote-first, talented Business Development Rep (BDR) to help accelerate our work with publishers globally. We want someone to be the lynchpin of the sales team to help prospect and qualify copious leads within the global publishing industry. Your experience, background and qualifications are much less important to us than your ability, attitude, tenacity and willingness to learn. You will be working directly with a sales lead that has experience taking businesses from 0 to >$20M in revenue, and you should be hungry to learn and motivated to become the world’s best BDRs in the education industry, with ambitions to earn a leadership position at Ludenso as the team grows.
What the job involves
- Quick and comprehensive prospecting within new and existing markets globally (initially within the European and US Publishing industry)
- Cold (targeted) outreach to senior stakeholders to deliver highly qualified leads - you will be working to (and exceeding) ambitious weekly targets
- Booking in sales meetings with senior stakeholders for the BD Lead
- Effective management of the sales pipeline (with a particular focus on expanding the top of the funnel)
- Effective and detailed use of the existing CRM (Salesflare) to track progress
- Ideation and implementation of new, creative methods of sales outreach to accelerate pipeline
- Help to hone and iterate on existing sales collateral
- Act as an ambassador for Ludenso and AR in the publishing industry (and adhere to Ludenso’s brand messaging)
- Participate in company wide meetings, and the opportunity to join off-site work retreats and in-person meetings when needed
Requirements
You must have:
- A deep hunger to push yourself and exceed goals
- Exceptional written and speaking skills in English
- An attitude of confidence, without arrogance
- True tenacity and perseverance - you will hear ‘no’ many times and it must not affect your outlook
- High EQ and IQ - and the ability to work effectively in a team
- An interest in education, publishing and augmented reality
- The desire to learn, be coached and grow in your role
It’s a bonus if you have:
- Experience working in a startup, ideally in an outbound BD role
- Experience in teaching (K12 or HE)
- Experience (and/or a network) in the Publishing industry
- Native fluency in another language to English
